“It’s disappointing to hear that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is making airport workers wait to get a much deserved raise,” 32BJ SEIU President Héctor Figueroa said. “After six years of struggle, the hardworking men and women who keep New York-area airports running cannot afford to wait any longer. This delay means workers keeping our airports and the traveling public safe and secure will have to do without resources that help them take care of themselves and their families. As they continue to look to the PANYNJ to make good on its promises,  airport workers will continue to struggle to pay their rents, electric bills, metro cards, payments for babysitters and other expenses in order to keep our airports ready, safe and strong. The bills won’t wait and neither should the PANYNJ.”
