32BJ Statement on Groundbreaking for Essential Workers Monument

32BJ Statement on Groundbreaking for Essential Workers Monument

The following statement can be attributed to SEIU 32BJ President Kyle Bragg:

“On behalf of our 85,000 essential worker members in New York, I am touched and gratified by the groundbreaking for the Essential Workers Monument to be erected in downtown Manhattan, and look forward to its unveiling this Labor Day. Among the tens of thousands of essential workers recognized in the memorial, the security officers, doormen, porters, cleaners and airport workers who are 32BJ members risked their lives, their health and their livelihoods to keep our city standing during the pandemic. We thank Governor Cuomo not only for his leadership through this difficult period, but for making a reality this permanent reminder of what they did, those we’ve lost and those who continue giving their all in the service of all New Yorkers.”
