32BJ SEIU Congratulates Endorsed Massachusetts and Rhode Island Candidates on Election Victories

BOSTON— 32BJ SEIU Executive Vice President Kevin Brown offered the following congratulatory statement for the union’s endorsed candidates who emerged victorious in the 2026 midterm elections in Massachusetts and Rhode Island:

“As the head of a service workers union whose working-class members are mostly immigrants and people of color, I am deeply pleased to extend congratulations to the candidates endorsed by our members who were chosen by the voters last night, starting with Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and U.S. Senator Ed Markey, each of whom has long supported the needs of our union members and all those facing the double bind of an economy turned sour by the corruption of the billionaire class and the Trump Administration’s vicious assault on immigrants, people of color, and others from vulnerable communities. The 20,000-plus janitors, security officers, and airport workers we represent in Massachusetts will also benefit from our endorsed candidates elected or re-elected to the Massachusetts State Legislature, all of whom we warmly congratulate. In Rhode Island, we are proud to congratulate Governor-Elect Helena Buonanno Foulkes, Lieutenant Governor-Elect Sabina Matos, Attorney General-Elect Kim Ahern, re-elected Treasurer James Diossa, and, last but far from least, Providence Mayor-elect David Morales. We look forward to working productively with all these newly elected officeholders in the coming months and years.”

With 190,000 members in 12 states and Washington, D.C., including 22,000 in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country. The following are all the union’s endorsed candidates who won election or re-election:
