32BJ SEIU Statement on the Death of Chris Trakimas

Statement from Ernie Bennett, District 1201 Assistant Area Leader:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our member, Chris Trakimas. Chris was a devoted father, grandfather and a long-time, school district mechanic. His death is a horrifying reminder that budget cuts can cost lives.

The safety of the hardworking men and women who maintain our schools is our first priority. We are continuing to work with the District to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris’s family and friends.”
