STAMFORD, Conn – Members of 32BJ SEIU, the nation’s largest property services union, have voted to endorse State Representative Terry Adams in Stamford for the Democratic Primary on August 9 — a vote they will support with volunteer canvassing work through next Tuesday’s primary.
“Through his first term as State Representative, Terry Adams has strongly supported the working men and women of Stamford,” said Juan Hernandez, District Leader of 32BJ SEIU. “As member of the Housing committee he strengthened affordable housing in his district, and he helped pass a Student Loan Bill of Rights which will help Connecticut graduates avoid crippling debt. He also steadfastly supports an increase in the state’s minimum wage to $15-an-hour and will champion the Better Jobs Act and other efforts to increase full-time employment in Connecticut. These are policies that our members wholeheartedly support, and Representative Adams’ re-election will continue to benefit them and his entire constituency.”
With more than 145,000 members in 11 states and Washington DC, including 4,000 members in Connecticut, 32BJ is the largest building service workers union in the country
