Newark, N.J. – 32BJ SEIU, one of the fastest-growing unions in New Jersey with 13,000 members, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Mikie Sherrill for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
“After meeting with members of 32BJ SEIU, our members are confident that Mikie Sherill, a former Navy helicopter pilot, and federal prosecutor, will uphold progressive values and fight for a stronger economy for working people,” said Kevin Brown, Vice President and New Jersey State Director of 32BJ SEIU. “In the face of unprecedented attacks on working families, we support candidates like Mikie Sherrill who have shown that they will fight for good jobs while working to protect immigrant communities and standing up for policies that protect our environment.”
Sherill said she was honored to receive the endorsement of 32BJ, a union successfully fighting for workers’ rights for more than 80 years.
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of the men and women of 32BJ SEIU,” said congressional candidate Mikie Sherrill. “Growing our economy begins with growing the middle class. We do that by raising wages and lowering the cost of healthcare. I look forward to working hard in Congress to help our families here in New Jersey.”
