32BJ SEIU Endorses Josh Elliott in August 9 Democratic Primary

HAMDEN, Conn – Members of 32BJ SEIU, the nation’s largest property services union, have voted to endorse Josh Elliott in the Democratic Primary on August 9, to replace outgoing State Representative Brendan Sharkey.

“We strongly endorse Josh Elliott for his progressive commitment to working people and his enthusiasm to make real change in Connecticut,” said Juan Hernandez, District Leader of 32BJ SEIU. “His opponent in the primary has made it clear that he has no intention to shake up the status quo, and that he has no broader vision to end the growing divisions that have made Connecticut the second most economically unequal state in the nation. Josh Elliott strongly backs paid family medical leave and the $15 minimum wage, which would make a real difference in the lives of working men and women here in Connecticut. For these positions, Josh Elliott has won our members’ vote of support, and he deserves the support of Democrats in his district this coming Tuesday.”
