PLAINVILLE, CT—32BJ members today announced their endorsement of Representative Betty Boukus for re-election to the Connecticut State General Assembly in the 22nd House District, as part of their push to win a higher minimum wage and more full-time hours for Connecticut workers next year.
“For 22 years, Representative Boukus has been a remarkably effective advocate for the working families in her district. She has co-sponsored major bills, like the latest raise in the minimum wage, as well as listened and supported the particular needs of our janitors and security officers,” said Connecticut District Assistant Supervisor Alberto Bernardez. “Our many members living in New Britain are proud to endorse Representative Boukus for re-election, for the continued betterment of our members’ lives and their community’s growth.”
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be endorsed by the members of 32BJ SEIU,” said Representative Boukus. “The hard work performed by these men and women is essential to the quality of life of all Connecticut residents.”
