We are not fighting just for ourselves but we’re fighting for all working families.

To all my 32BJ brothers and sisters —

WE WON! You worked incredibly hard for many months to help reelect President Obama and other champions for working people, and last night we were finally able to celebrate! Click HERE to see how all of our candidates fared. I am so proud of the work we did, day after day, night after night, talking to our co-workers, families and communities about what was at stake for working people. Over this year we had close to 2,000 volunteers across our region, out a total of nearly 4,000 times, and we got it done!

But our work is not over. Now union members and other advocates for middle-class and working families need to give the president the support he needs to push for critical changes, including government investment to create good jobs, tax reform to force the rich to pay their fair share, and comprehensive immigration reform. The President should not have to fight these battles alone. And if he starts to head down a wrong path, we need to stand up and let him know. America’s working families must be both vocal and visible to help President Obama bring a broadly shared prosperity back to our country.

Brothers and sisters, we did it. And we did it together. Let’s celebrate and honor our work, and let us also ready ourselves for the work ahead to transform this country, worker by worker, family by family, community by community. Si se puede!
