“Ward 5 residents can count on Kenyan McDuffie to ensure that companies invest in their community by creating good, family-sustaining jobs. He will make certain that the city only hires responsible contractors who we can trust with our tax dollars.”
SEIU volunteers worked to support Kenyan McDuffie in the weeks leading up to the election, persuading voters and getting out the vote through advertising and direct mail, and having thousands of conversations with Ward 5 voters by phone and through a door-to-door canvassing operation.
The SEIU Maryland and D.C. State Council represent nearly 45,000 members in the areas of health care, public services, education, property services and the non-profit sector who are united to help improve the workplace and lives of not only SEIU members, but working families across the region. It includes 32BJ SEIU, Local 500, 1199 SEIU UHE, Local 400 PG, Local 722, and SEIU NAGE 5000.
With more than 120,000 members in six states, including 15,000 in the D.C. Metropolitan Area, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
