New York, NY— Today 32BJ SEIU President Kyle Bragg and members of the union who advocated for a prevailing wage at affordable housing developments will attend a bill signing for the powerful piece of legislation. They will join Mayor Bill de Blasio and members of the City Council, which passed the bill by near unanimous vote last month.  The Prevailing wage for affordable housing developments and preservation projects will require good jobs, with union wages and benefits at most of the 120,000 scheduled affordable housing developments in New York Coty, with important carve outs for deeply affordable units. It will ensure that New York addresses the affordable housing crisis and the good jobs crisis that exacerbates it, simultaneously.
