New York, NY—32BJ SEIU President Manny Pastreich issued the following statement of solidarity with the 11,000 members of the Writers Guild of America West who went on strike Tuesday, May 2.

“We stand in solidarity with the 11,000 striking members of the Writers Guild America West, representing writers of motion pictures, television, radio, and internet programming. These writers form a core part of the entertainment industry’s success. In an era of unprecedented entertainment production, these workers deserve job security and fair rates that will allow them to provide for themselves and their families. At this critical moment in WGA West’s fight for their members, 32BJ SEIU proudly backs their strike and offers our support until an agreement is reached.”
