32BJ SEIU Congratulates Newly Elected Dc Council Members LaRuby May And Brandon Todd On Swearing In

Washington, D.C. – Members of the 32BJ SEIU congratulated LaRuby May and Brandon Todd today on their swearing in for DC Council seats in Wards 8 and 4. The union provided key support for the endorsed candidates, by devoting significant time knocking on doors and making phone calls as well as through direct mail, and member outreach.

“We look forward to working with LaRuby May and Brandon Todd to help low-wage workers get access to full-time hours,” said Jaime Contreras, 32BJ Vice President and Capital Area Director. “We share the belief that no one should have to work multiple part-time jobs to make ends meet.”

With more than 145,000 members in 11 states, including 17,000 in the D.C. Metropolitan Area, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
