Everybody should have a union…. It gives us a voice. It gives you the power to change things that need to be changed.

NY Stands Up for Fast-Food Workers

Thursday in Union Square before a crowd of 1000 plus 32BJ members and other New Yorkers, Governor Andrew Cuomo made the historic announcement of the formation of a wage board to investigate and set higher wages for fast food workers across the state. This important step forward for fast food workers and ultimately all working New Yorkers would not have been possible without our participation and mobilization!

This is big. After all the work we’ve done to come this far, we need to make sure that the wage board recommends $15 per hour, and that Governor Cuomo implements that recommendation.

When we fight we win, we are stronger together. Union members standing together with low-wage workers are growing a movement to raise standards for all working people.

Click here to sign the petition and let the wage board know that you demand a $15 minimum wage for fast food workers.
