I think every shop steward should be training someone else and that person can be training someone else too.

March for Immigrant Dignity and Respect

On October 5, we will return to the streets to send a message to the House of Representatives: Get immigration reform done, and get it done now. We will join marches and rallies in over 40 cities across our nation to make sure Congress hears our call for Dignity and Respect!

October 8 is the Washington DC finale to the nationwide mobilization launched on October 5. On October 8th at 12:30, tens of thousands of people will gather on the National Mall at 10th Street to celebrate Camino Americano: the Concert for Immigrant Dignity and Respect before marching to the U.S. Capitol.

We are marching for commonsense immigration reform with a path to citizenship, immigration rules that promote family unity and protect worker rights, an end to the destruction of our families through deportations, and a halt to unneeded border militarization and for profit immigrant detention prisons.

We are marching for an America where our hard work is honored; where our many contributions to the nation are respected and where our families and children can dream of building lives of dignity without fear. We cannot let the continued failures of Washington result in more families torn apart, more abusive employers and poverty wages, more children who cannot dream.

We are marching for a better America for all, and we invite all our friends to join us. It’s time to raise our voices and be heard!
