Our political work has an impact on us in the workplace so it’s something we need to do in the union too.

As the Supreme Court hears Janus vs. AFSCME, a case bankrolled by corporate special interests that want to take away your union wages and benefits, 32BJ members like Justin are speaking up against this attack to your job, paycheck, and freedom to join together in union.

Like millions of public sector workers, Justin, a school custodian and army veteran, is working hard to protect the raises, benefits, and job security that come with a strong union contract. But Janus could allow “free riders” to reap the benefits of a union contract without covering the costs to keep our union strong. Once this so-called “Right to Work” law hits our public sector brothers and sisters, every union job could be at risk.

So how can we beat this attack? 32BJ members across the country are taking action to show that no court decision will hold us back. You can join by recommitting to your union, and talking to your co-workers about the union difference until every workplace is 100% strong. You can also talk to non-union workers doing the same work we do for far less, about joining 32BJ to expand the union difference to others and build our collective power!

By coming together to defend our freedoms, standing with our union brothers and sisters, and standing with all workers in every city across the country, we can fight for our freedom to prosper.
