Our Brother Will Be Missed

Our brother, 20 year window cleaning veteran Eddie Colón, will be dearly missed.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of window cleaner and 32BJ member Eddie Colón, who passed away Wednesday May 18th after an accident at the Brooklyn building where he had worked for more than 20 years.

Eddie did one of the scariest jobs in New York City. Every morning for 20 years he would wake up early and head to work, to climb buildings and wash their windows. But Eddie was not a fearful man. During his nearly 20 years on the job, he built a family, became close with his coworkers and diligently did his job.

As the investigation into his death continues, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with all those who knew and cared about him. He will be missed by friends, family and coworkers alike.

32BJ is working to do all we can to support Eddie’s family in this difficult time. Stay tuned for information on how you can help.
