As the “Gang of Eight” Nears a Deal in the Senate, Local Labor, Faith, Community and Immigrant Groups Intensify Call for Immigration Reform

NORRISTOWN– Hundreds of immigrants and supporters are expected to converge at Norristown’s St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. for a rally and march in support of commonsense federal immigration reform.

 

WHAT: “Time Is Now” Rally and March for Immigration Reform

WHEN:  Saturday, April 6, 11:00 a.m. (speaking program begins at 11:30 a.m.)

WHERE:  St. Patrick’s Church, 714 DeKalb St, Norristown, PA (followed by a march to Norristown Borough Hall)

WHY:

32BJ SEIU, JUNTOS, PA United for Immigration Reform and a broad group of local community and religious organizations are urging Rep. Allison Schwartz, Senator Pat Toomey and the Obama Administration to move forward with commonsense immigration reform that includes a realistic path to citizenship, keeps families together, raises standards for all working people and strengthens the economy. The rally will commence a week of action in which dozens of events will be held across the country culminating in a march with tens of thousands on Washington on April 10.
