Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato is piling up endorsements from labor unions. He now has received the endorsement of three locals of the Service Employees International Union - SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, Local 32BJ and Workers United PA Joint Board. Together they represent more than 43,000 workers across Pennsylvania.
Onorato, the Allegheny County executive, also has received the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Council of Teamsters, representing about 95,000 members statewide.
Ned Lamont, the Greenwich cable executive, who is exploring a run for governor recently said he would not support a bill that requires businesses to pay its employees sick time. The statement drew immediate criticism from labor unions and one of his Democratic opponents.
