Members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) will gather at 32BJ SEIU office in Washington, DC to lead phone banking efforts urging fellow members to attend the upcoming March For America rally on March 21st which will call for comprehensive immigration reform.
“Many working people have been deported, families are being separated. If the U.S. government allows the opportunity for immigration reform, it will boost the economy,” expressed Fermin, a member of 32BJ.SEIU.
The march on the National Mall is being supported by a broad coalition of organizations and union members nationwide to send a powerful message to President Obama and to Congress: immigration reform must happen in 2010.
SEIU members are expected in the thousands – phone bank efforts will help recruit many more as the 21st approaches.

Una gran coalición de organizaciones y sindicalistas de todo el país apoya la marcha del Mall Nacional que les enviará un poderoso mensaje al presidente Obama y al Congreso: la reforma migratoria debe hacerse en 2010.
El miércoles 17 de marzo, los afiliados del Sindicato Internacional de Empleados de Servicios (SEIU) se reunirán en las oficinas de la filial local 32BJ de Washington para operar un banco de llamadas telefónicas que exhortará a la comunidad a asistir a la Marcha por América el 21 de marzo por una reforma migratoria integral.
“Se ha deportado a muchos trabajadores y dividido a familias enteras. Si el gobierno de Estados Unidos brindara la oportunidad de una reforma migratoria la economía se vería impulsada", manifestó Fermín, afiliado a SEIU Local 32BJ.
