Preliminary Look At The Deficit Bill

By Christine Stuart

Published: January 14, 2009

It looks like the Agricultural Experiment Station and alternative incarceration programs were saved in the Democratic majority’s preliminary revisions to Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s budget mitigation plan.

In addition it looks like the state janitors, who have been fighting for their health care benefits under that state’s standard wage law will receive $274,000 toward the cost of covering those benefits.

These details are derived from bill 5095. Click here to read a copy of the bill, here for the fiscal note, and here for the analysis.
