The Mayor and City Council should be commended for signing into law an ordinance protecting the immigrants who contribute so much to Hartford's economy and cultural diversity. The new ordinance helps make Hartford a safer city, by enabling immigrants to feel comfortable coming forward to report crimes in their communities. By signing this ordinance, Mayor Perez also sends a signal to the Hartford community that we value and respect the contributions of our immigrant population, and to other cities that effective, practical and humane ways of dealing with these issues do exist."

El alcalde y la Alcaldía de Hartford deben ser elogiados por haber firmado la ley para la protecciónde los inmigrantes que contribuyen, tanto a la
economía de Hartford y la diversidad cultural. La  nueva ordenanza ayudará a hacer de Hartford una ciudad más segura, al permitir que los inmigrantes
se sientan cómodos al poder denunciar crímenes en sus comunidades. Al firmar esta ordenanza, el Alcalde Pérez también envía una señal a la comunidad de Hartford, que valora y respeta la contribución de nuestra población inmigrante. También muestra a otras ciudades que las soluciones eficaces,
