Hartford-area members of a janitors' union will be receiving up to 20 percent wage increases, expanded health care coverage and more full-time jobs as a result of their new contract.
Lynsey Kryzwick, a spokeswoman for SEIU Local 32BJ, said the contract will affect 2,000 Hartford-area office cleaners for the next four years.

Cleaning contractors and union officials had reached a tentative agreement on Dec. 20, and this weekend's action finalized the negotiations. Prior to that, union officials had threatened to strike, a move that they said would have taken 90 percent of Hartford's janitors off the job.
