32BJ Members Showcase their Talents in First Art Exhibit
Exhibit Traveling to 32BJ Offices

32BJ launched its first-ever Member Art Exhibit on June 15, 2007, Justice for Janitors Day.

The exhibit, called Diverse Cultures, includes over 30 pieces of original paintings, drawings, photography, poetry, and other forms of artistic expression by more than a dozen artists who are members of the union.

This exhibit celebrates the diversity of our union and the work of artists who are 32BJ members, staff and officers. View a sample of the art work.

Artists featured in the exhibit are:  Melissa Amernick, Edward Bochnak, Ricardo Buchana, Carl Calderone, Hector Figueroa, Adrian Garcia, Gabriel Gunther, Lara Hill, Lina McDonald-Berrios, Vladimir Monje, Hernando Nieto, Joseph Piccinotti, Naja Quintero, Camille Rivera, Henry Rodriguez and Hiram Rodriguez.

In addition, 32BJ is developing a Cultural Committee to engage members in the work of the union through cultural activities.  If you are a 32BJ member interested in joining the Cultural Committee or if you’d like more information on the art exhibit, please contact Saul Nieves at snieves@seiu32bj.org or 212-388-2172.

The exhibit runs from June to December 2007 in various 32BJ offices.  View the touring schedule.
