For more than four decades 32BJ member Steve Keschl has never missed a day on the job serving and greeting tenants on the Upper East Side and this year the neighborhood showed its appreciation by electing him Best East Side Doorman.

His dedication and spirit has earned him the respect of building managers and residents alike. "There isn't another doorman like Steve, and we're keeping him," said resident, Rena Fafalios. "The building would close if he left."

When asked how he keeps a positive attitude after 46 years on the job, Keschl responds, "I love people and people love me. I was born like this - I can't help it."
