The men and women who work in thousands of residential buildings across this city make New York home for millions of us: they look out for our kids, watch our families grow, help us grow older with dignity, and protect our homes.
They add value not only to our properties but also to our lives. We must continue to make an investment in them and their work.
We need to also ensure that the standards these workers are fighting for are maintained through any agreements with large scale developments.
The contract covering 30,000 residential building workers expires soon. These workers deserve wages and benefits that make it possible to continue to live and work in New York City, and make New York home for them and their families.
Stand with these workers and their union, 32BJ SEIU, as we work to keep New York City a place for all of us.
