“They have to be aware that the people who work for them are not just statistics, but we are people. The union has allowed us to show that and use our voices.”

~ Michael Greene, 32BJ Member, New York

Giving Thanks and Support

From 32BJ President Héctor Figueroa

As I think about all the things I am thankful for this year, you are at the top of my list. I am so thankful for all of the hard work and solidarity of every 32BJ member that makes our union strong. Together, we’ve raised our voices and will continue to organize together to support and grow working families and communities.

At the same time, this Thanksgiving some of our union sisters and brothers need our help. Some of our members’ homes and communities were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy and they face the tremendous task of rebuilding. As a union family, we must support them and help however we can. Please consider contributing to the SEIU Hurricane Relief Fund.

If you can, please make a Thanksgiving donation to our sisters and brothers in the union who need our help.

I also want to recognize the heroic work of many of our members during and after Hurricane Sandy to clean schools and office buildings, help apartment building residentsand provide security at buildings in areas that were hit hard by the storm. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving, filled with good food and time with your family.
