SEIU ENDORSES AL JONES FOR COMMISSIONER

Miami Beach, FL—SEIU Florida State Council, the fastest growing union in Florida announced today its endorsement of Broward Commissioner Albert Jones for reelection. As part of its endorsement, the union committed to a voter outreach campaign in support of his elections.

“As a commissioner Al Jones has fought tirelessly for working families,” said Eric Brakken, 32BJ SEIU Florida Director. “SEIU is proud to support strong candidates like Jones who will make sure the voices of working people are heard in Broward.”

“We are facing serious challenges in Broward County right now, and we need elected officials who are committed to fighting for working families,” Brakken said. “Albert Jones has always been an advocate for 32BJ SEIU members and all middle-class South Floridians and we are proud to stand with him in his re-election.”
The union’s member-driven endorsement process previously announced endorsements of Steve Geller and Barbara Sharief for Broward County Commission, Ken Keechl for Broward County and Annette Taddeo for Miami Dade County Commission, as well as Kendrick Meek for US Senate and Dan Gelber for Attorney General”.

With more than 120,000 members, including South Florida, 32BJ SEIU is one of the fastest growing private sector unions in the country.

SEIU Florida represents 45,000 active and retired healthcare professionals, public employees, and property service workers and is the largest and fastest-growing union in the state.
